It's a simple thing, really. Meg takes the 20 names on the list Castiel left at the bar for her, writes them on small pieces of paper, and then fold the papers in half and drops them in a bowl.
And then draws them, one by one, back out, and writes the first name (
Edward Cullen) down on one list, the second (
Raphael) on the other, and so on, back and forth, until she gets to the last piece of paper (
Evan Lorne).
She then makes three copies of the
lists, one for each captain, and one to post in the bar.
The copies for Castiel and Dr. Cullen get added to copies of the
Ground Rules, and then Meg writes two short notes:
Dear Dr. Cullen,
Enclosed you should find a list of the players for both baseball teams and the Ground Rules for Milliways. Your team (The Milliways Paradoxes) will bat in the top of the innings.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
I hope all is well with you, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Meg
Dear Castiel,
Here are the teams, as determined by random drawing, and the rules for our game. Your team (The End of the Universe Enigmas) will bat in the bottom of the innings. (Since you're building the field, it seems only appropriate to consider your team the home team.)
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Meg
Meg puts all the lists and letters in her bag, and crosses a few more things off her
To Do, Baseball list.
